What is CRAFTOUR?
CRAFTOUR is a European initiative that brings together projects and partners committed to the promotion and innovation of artistic craftsmanship. Its goal is to create a collaborative ecosystem that addresses the sector’s challenges, promotes sustainability, digitalization, and training, and strengthens the role of craftsmanship in European culture and economy.
This event will also see Artex participating as a partner in two projects within CRAFTOUR: Tracks4Crafts (Horizon Europe 2023–2027) and Reskilling Crafts (Erasmus+ 2025–2027).

The scientific conference on 29 January will offer a full day of discussion and in-depth exploration of the craft world, featuring interactive roundtables, keynotes, and research paper presentations covering CRAFTOUR’s five pillars. This is a unique opportunity to explore key themes and discover new perspectives, complemented by a showcase of posters, photographs, and films celebrating creativity and the value of artisanal skills.
Elisa Guidi, Artex coordinator, will participate as a panelist in the final roundtable to discuss organizational transformation and the resilience of the craft sector, addressing topics such as sustainability, innovative business models, and practical challenges in adopting eco-friendly practices.

- Connections between craftsmanship and other sectors (fashion, design, tourism, heritage construction)
- Impact of craftsmanship on cultural heritage, territorial identity, economic development, SMEs, employment, and sustainability
The conference on 30 January is based on CRAFTOUR’s policy recommendations and insights from the roundtable with the European Commission. The event will bring together leading figures, institutions, and organizations from the craft sector to maximize impact and visibility. The stage will feature authoritative voices from the world of craftsmanship and beyond, sharing experiences, visions, and strategies to revitalize and strengthen Europe’s artisan ecosystem.
